Introducing issues of barrier free design
Design Für Die Zukunft : Although this edition is in German, the large number of photographs, diagrams and drawings make it easy to understand. It offers a comprehensive introduction to barrier free design that promotes ease of use for older people, disabled people and children.
It contains: Essays on social developments, new practices, methods and philosophies in design, and pure and applied research; Case studies featuring individual designs, products, and profiles of design companies, manufacturers and retailers; Portraits of people whose needs are addressed by barrier-free design describing typical days in their lives, favourite activities, products, and places.
Many of the case studies in this publication can be found as separate items in this Resource. English texts are available on request from the Helen Hamlyn Research Centre.
